So many quotes!!! This is one of my favorite Disney movies growing up. The funniest and the most quotable movie I ever watched. That’s right! I’m talking about Walt Disney’s underrated classic from the early 2000s The Emperor’s New Groove. So, what I’ve got here is my first ever watercolor drawing of the main character Emperor Kuzco, both as human and llama. A spoiled, sarcastic 18-year-old emperor who happens to be turned into a llama by his adviser Yzma and her misguided henchman, Kronk (Well, actually it was Kronk who accidentally use the wrong exact for turning him into a llama, instead of poisoning him), and then has to team up with the peasant man named Pacha, in order to get back to the palace and be turned back into his groovy human himself again. It’s all about the groove, baby!

Kuzco was voiced by David Spade, and his supervising animator was Nik Ranieri, whose best known animated works at Disney were Lumiere (Beauty and the Beast), Meeko (Pocahontas), and Hades (Hercules). Kuzco is one of my favorite characters in the movie, and of course, Kronk is just too much! Kronk is amazingly hilarious!!! They both have classic lines that you can just quote all the time. As a woman with autism tending to quote from movies all the time, I quote this movie so many times. This movie has made me laugh every time I watch this, and my mom loves this movie, too. I know Kuzco, at first, was a jerk guy at the beginning of the movie, but you’ve got admit, he’s got great lines. The animation was great, the background paintings are colorful with combinations of yellow gold, green, light-blues, reds, oranges, and yes the purples because of Yzma’s color theme, which really fits her character, the style is very graphic and it fits, and the story is timeless. A very enjoyable Disney movie to watch for sure.
